Perhaps you have previously seen our regional seal “Sustainable Hosts in the Amberg‑Sulzbach Region” on our website. Due to new EU‑wide regulations (EU EmpCo Directive), regional sustainability labels may no longer be used for promotional purposes in their current form. The logo may be gone – but our commitment remains.
We continue to actively support our environment and our region every single day. For you as our guest, this means – just as before:
- Conservation of resources through mindful use of water and energy
- Avoidance of plastic waste and consistent waste separation
- Support for local cycles here in the Amberg‑Sulzbach region

Environmental awareness and sustainability have been close to the hearts of your hosts at HOF ELF for years.
Our environmentally friendly heat pump produces hot water and heating energy with green electricity, supported by solar thermal energy and electricity from our photovoltaic systems. We have taken measures to save energy and water through the use of LED lighting and flow reductions in the bathroom and kitchen.
For our extensive renovation work, we mainly used regionally manufactured materials and preferred environmentally friendly materials in the choice of furnishings.
